Let’s face it, getting a new job is hard.
There’s no job!
Your best bet is to keep your current one.
So, what can you do to reawaken your passion for your current job?
We’ve listed out 5 ways to do so.
1. Understand your impact
As simple as it sounds it does reawaken your passion. Take a paper and list out what positive impacts you’ve added to the company since you came in. You can also ask colleagues for a review. Keeping these ideas in your mind will help you sustain the drive to do more.
2. Think in long terms
A whole lot of benefit comes from sticking with a company for years. First, it prepares you career-wise for much bigger roles since you have a wealth of experience. And also it signifies that you’re loyal and won’t leave an organization when the going gets tough.
3. Remain inquisitive and keep learning
Lack of growth is a valid reason to leave a company, but have you thought of ways to grow your mindset while at the job. Make efforts to stay current and to engage in the latest information about your field.
4. Find new meaning in familiar territory
You may think you’ve seen it all and know it all about your job and you’d like to further your career elsewhere. It’s your right! But pending when you do get another job, consider the little things never mattered to you. You can pay a visit to other departments and see how they work. Inquire about a client and pay more interest in what they do.
5. Create “reflective structures.”
Big words but it mean setting aside time 30mins or an hour per day, per week to reflect. During this time, get away from the demands of your job and be with your own thoughts. A lot of CEOs and well-accomplished leaders do this a lot.
